A message from Adoptive Family Travel:
What I Would Tell You If I Could Find The Words* (workshop description below)…
An interactive workshop for parents of international adoptees, adult adoptees, and all who care about kids.
This workshop is for an adult audience.
We are very close to being able to have this workshop come to Clinton, Illinois. If you are interested but have not let the planners know yet, please do. That is how we’ll get this workshop to our neck of the woods.
Please email Info@AdoptiveFamilyTravel.com to express your interest.
*If you are raising a tween or teen, chances are they are holding back. This workshop will help you hear teens’ and tweens’ thoughts on:
- Relationships with their birth and adoptive families
- Adoptee loyalty
- Understanding their background
- Why…the ever present question
- Abandonment issues
- Control issues
- Self worth
A unique and interactive workshop. You will hear and experience the thoughts of international adoptees….the “restricted information” shared openly and honestly. We will also provide suggestions to help you create a strategy that will strengthen the relationship with your child.
Cost: no charge.
However, a freewill donation will be accepted for The Gift of Identity Fund. (http://gift-of-identity.org/) GIFT funds international adoptees visiting their birth country with the goal of helping them understand their identity, heritage, and culture! Gift of Identity Fund, Ltd. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
Suggested donation: $10 per person.
